The Los Angeles Lakers earned their 36th victory of the season with a 120-109 win at home over the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Lakers now move to six games above .500 with a 36-30 record overall. They also improve to 24-11 at home. Anthony Davis spoke postgame about the Lakers’ win over a Minnesota team that is now second in the Western Conference standings.
“This team is No. 2 in the West, and still a good team,” Davis said. “Obviously, they’re missing key parts of their team, but they still have guys who can make plays, and they still find a way to win ballgames. We just wanted to come out as a team effort and knowing that wherever we are in the standings and how important this game was, trying to close the gap in the standings.”
Anthony Davis had a huge night for the Lakers. Davis had his way against the Timberwolves’ defense. Davis scored 27 points on 9-for-17 shooting. Davis hit 9-for-13 from the free-throw line. Davis also grabbed 25 rebounds, dished out five assists, recorded seven steals, and blocked three shots. Davis spoke postgame about his performance and the team’s win more during his postgame interview.
“When we’re out there having fun, everybody’s confidence is high,” Davis said. “When we’re talking trash to the other team, we’re holding each other accountable, and we’re just playing the right way. We know what it takes. It’s just about having the consistency of playing that way each and every night.”
LeBron James led the way for the Lakers with 29 points on 10-for-16 shooting. James knocked down 2-for-4 from the three-point line. James hit 7-for-9 from the free-throw line. James also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out nine assists.
