The Los Angeles Lakers earned a 121-116 victory over the Detroit Pistons on the road. They were able to rally after an unfortunate incident in the third quarter. LeBron James was ejected after an inadvertent elbow to Isaiah Stewart’s face/eye. After the elbow, all hell almost broke loose. The refs and staff did a great job at keeping things at bay. James was ejected for his inadvertent elbow to Stewart. Lakers Star Anthony Davis spoke on James’ ejection and defended his teammate.
“Everybody did a great job trying to deescalate the situation,” he said. “You never want it to get to that point like 17 years ago. Everyone in the league knows LeBron isn’t a dirty guy,” Davis said. “As soon as he did it, he looked back and told him, ‘My bad.”
Anthony Davis led the way for the Lakers with 30 points on 11 of 19 shooting from the field. Davis also grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out six assists. Russell Westbrook stepped up big in LeBron’s absence with 26 points on 10 of 21 shooting from the field. Westbrook also grabbed nine rebounds and 10 assists.
