The Washington Wizards earned a 120-99 victory over the Detroit Pistons in D.C. The Wizards Superstar, Bradley Beal was limited to just 21 minutes of playing time due to tightness in his back. He was able to come back and play in the third quarter after missing the whole second quarter. This did not affect the Wizards negatively and they were able to roll to victory.
Wizards Head Coach Wes Unseld Jr. spoke postgame about Beal missing some time. He also spoke about the Wizards resolve and them able to earn the victory.
“It’s always tough to go a stretch without Brad,” coach Wes Unseld Jr. said. “He was able to come back into the game and kind of gave us some life. The changing defenses throughout — last season gave us a lot of problems. I thought we handled it a little better tonight.”
Kyle Kuzma led the way for the Washington Wizards. Kuzma scored 25 points on 9 for 17 shooting from the field. Kuzma also grabbed six rebounds.
Kristaps Porzingis scored 20 points on 8 for 13 shooting from the field. Porzingis knocked down 2 for 4 from behind the three-point line. He also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out two assists. Porzingis spoke postgame about the Wizards’ win and their overall performance.
“Decent win for us — a game that we’re supposed to win and we took care of business,” he said. “Would have been better if we got the lead earlier and not let them stay around in the game. … That way we could give more minutes to the guys that maybe don’t play as many minutes.”
