The Boston Celtics treated game 4 as a must-win game. The Celtics knew that they didn’t want to drop both games 3 and 4 at home. They came out like gangbusters jumping to a 26-4 lead in the first. Game 4 was out of reach in the first quarter and the Celtics never relinquished the lead. The Boston Celtics defeated the Miami Heat 102-82. Celtics Head Coach Ime Udoka spoke on the Celtics’ mindset heading into this game during postgame.
“Just got to muster that same energy when we came off a win as well as a loss,” Udoka said. “This is a three-game series now. Can’t always just flip the mindset when we come off a loss and get a little desperate.”
Jayson Tatum scored 31 points on 8-for-16 shooting from the field. Tatum knocked down 1-for-7 from behind the three-point line. He also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out five assists on the night. Tatum spoke on the Celtics sense of urgency postgame.
“Obviously, we knew how important this game was,” Tatum said. “Everybody just had to come up with a different sense of urgency.”
