The Boston Celtics have now punched their ticket to the Eastern Conference Finals. They last made the Eastern Conference Finals in 2020 where they lost to the Miami Heat.
They now have earned the right to a rematch after defeating the Milwaukee Bucks in this year’s second-round series, winning Game 7 by a score of 109-81.
Jayson Tatum scored 23 points on 7-for-14 shooting from the field, which includes 5-for-9 from behind the three-point line. Tatum also grabbed six rebounds and dished out eight assists.
Tatum spoke about his Celtics embracing their backs being against the wall.
“As much as it hurt to lose Game 5, I was looking forward to that challenge,” Tatum said. “I believe in myself, I believe in this team. I expected to play the way I did and for us to respond the way we did.”
Grant Williams had a huge Game 7 as well for the Celtics. Williams scored 27 points. Williams shot 10-for-22 from the field. Williams also shot 7-for-18 from the three-point line. He also grabbed six rebounds on the night. Williams spoke on his hot hand postgame.
“For me, it was like, they’re encouraging it, I might as well take advantage,” Williams said. “Each one as time got on got more comfortable.”

The Celtics will now travel to Miami to face the Miami Heat in game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Game 1 will take place on Tuesday, 5/17. Tip-off is at 8:30 pm from the FTX Arena.
