The Miami Heat earned their 13th victory against the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis. The Heat defeated the Pacers 87-82. Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra felt like the Heat turned back the clock. The game was a defensive struggle and a sort of throwback to the old Pacers/Heat rivalry. Spoelstra gave his take on his team’s effort postgame.
“We knew coming in it was going to be by any means necessary,” Spoelstra said. “If you don’t lock in and play defense, they can take a 10-, 12-point lead on you quickly. This is not an easy team to play.”
Bam Adebayo led the way for the Heat. Adebayo scored 22 points on 8-for-18 shooting from the field. Adebayo hit 6-for-7 from the free-throw line. Adebayo also grabbed 17 rebounds and dished out three assists.
Jimmy Butler scored 20 points on 8-for-16 shooting from the field. Butler hit 4-for7 from the free-throw line. Butler grabbed seven rebounds, dished out five assists, and got two steals.
