The Milwaukee Bucks were without their Superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo due to calf soreness for the second straight game. Milwaukee deafeated Miami 124-102. The Bucks have now improved to 15-9 on the season. After a slow start to the season the Bucks have picked things up. They are now six games over .500. Bobby Portis has been playing extremely well as the Bucks have surged forward in a positive way. He spoke postgame about how the Bucks have approached this game and others.
“We just wanted to go out there and build good habits, just be the best team we can on a day-to-day basis,” said Bucks center Bobby Portis, who had 19 points and a career high-tying 16 rebounds. “It’s not about the Miami Heat and us playing against them.”
Pat Connaughton led the way for the Bucks against the Heat. He scored a team-high 23 points on 8 of 15 shooting from the field. Connaughton hit 7 of 13 from the three-point line. He also grabbed four rebounds. Bucks Head Coach Mike Budenholzer spoke postgame about Connaughton’s strong play.
“I thought he was great,” Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer said. “We needed that burst out of the gate. We got a little bit of separation in the first quarter (34-23) which I thought was important.”
