The Atlanta Hawks won a close one at the buzzer at home against the Toronto Raptors.
The Hawks executed a magnificent inbounds play to win the game. Trae Young made the great go-ahead pass to AJ Griffin and the Hawks rookie made the game-winning layup.
Griffin had the smarts to get behind the defense as the inbounds play was being made. Griffin spoke his heroics during the postgame interviews.
“I was in the right place at the right time,” Griffin said. “I had a feeling they were going to pressure up. I saw it and broke early. I said, ‘I’ll just sneak up behind them.’ That’s exactly what happened.”
Trae Young led the way for the Atlanta Hawks. Young scored 33 points on 12-for-21 shooting from the field. Young knocked down 2-for-4 from behind the three-point line. Young grabbed three rebounds and dished out 12 assists. Young spoke on the Hawks’ resolve and them able to get the win postgame.
“We just get playing, kept fighting,” Young said. “It’s a long game. They went on runs. We went on runs, we went on runs. It’s a long game, so you can’t stop at any time of it. We knew we had a chance to get back in the game. We just kept playing.”
