The Los Angeles Lakers earned their 40th victory this season with a 128-124 win in double overtime over the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Lakers are now 40-32 overall and 13-20 on the road. Los Angeles was down double digits and could have packed it in, as they were without LeBron James and could have given up once they were down big..Austin Reaves credits the team’s mindset for avoiding that scenario.
“It was one of those moments that you could either flip the page to tomorrow, get ready for that game or you could go out and compete 110% and give yourself an opportunity or at least try to give yourself an opportunity to get back in the game,” Reeves told the media postgame.
Anthony Davis Steps Up
Anthony Davis led the way for the Lakers with 34 points on 12-for-31 shooting. Davis shot 3-for-8 from the three-point line. Davis knocked down 7-for-7 from the free-throw line and grabbed 23 rebounds, dished out two assists, recorded two steals, and blocked four shots.
“A 20-point lead in this league now, it’s nothing because of the way the offense is right now in the league, so high-powered that you can wipe away a lead pretty fast.”
- D’Angelo Russell scored 29 points, grabbed seven rebounds, dished out 12 assists, and recorded two steals.
- Austin Reaves scored 29 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, and dished out 10 assists.
- Rui Hachimura scored 16 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
The Lakers travel next to Memphis, Tennesee on Wednesday, 3/27 to face the Memphis Grizzles. Tip-off from the FedEx Forum is at 8 p.m. Eastern.
