The Los Angeles Lakers are starting to get their team healthy and whole as they look to make a push up the NBA Western Conference standings. The Lakers got one of their superstars back in Anthony Davis. They also got their new Forward, Rui Hachimura who they received in a trade from the Wizards in the fold. This proved to pay huge dividends with the Los Angeles Lakers defeating the San Antonio Spurs, 113-104. The Lakers earned their 23rd victory of the season and are now 23-26 overall. Lakers’ Head Coach Darvin Ham spoke postgame about the victory and his team getting healthy during his postgame presser.
“We were all figuring out ways we could mix and match. We just wanted to get guys in there,” Lakers coach Darvin Ham said. “With AD coming back and Rui being new, we had to work through some kinks. When we got settled into the game, guys had different runs.”
Anthony Davis returned to the Lakers’ lineup after missing 20 games due to a stress injury in his foot. Davis scored 21 points on 7-for-15 shooting from the field. Davis knocked down 1-for-3 from the three-point line. He knocked down 6-for-7 from the free-throw line. Anthony Davis also grabbed 12 rebounds. Davis spoke postgame regarding his return.
“I was testing the waters at first,” Davis said. “Once I saw the ball go through on the second free-throw attempt (in the first quarter), I started playing and doing little things to start to get going.”
