The Los Angeles Lakers won a nail biter over the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis. The Lakers have been playing in a lot of games down to the wire as of late. The game against the Pacers was no different. The Lakers defeated the Pacers 112-111. LeBron James is inching closer to the NBA’s All-Time scoring record. He currently has 38,325 points and is only 63 points from passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. James compared this scoring record to other records that have been broken in pro sports during his postgame interview.
“I think it’s one of the greatest records in sports, in general,” he said. “It’s like the home run record in baseball. It’s one of those records that you don’t ever see or think will be broken. You see guys like Hank Aaron, who had it for so long. You see guys like Sammy (Sosa) and Mark McGwire and you start climbing it and it’s like ‘Oh, this could really happen.’ It’s a fun thing as a sports person. It was fun watching those guys chasing it.”
LeBron James scored 26 points on 11-for-19 shooting. James knocked down 2-for-5 from the three-point line. He hit 2-for-2 from the free-throw line. James also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out seven assists. James also spoke postgame on his contribution to the team to get the win.
“I just understood my game was needed more on the interior tonight,” James said. “Needed to get some rebounds, need to get some baskets in there and and I felt like we were attacking, especially in the fourth quarter.”
Anthony Davis scored 31 points to lead the Lakers. Davis scored his 31 on 13-for-27 shooting. Davis knocked down 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. Davis also grabbed 14 rebounds and dished out two assists.
