Free agent guard/forward Jonathon Simmons has agreed to a contract with the Liaoning Flying Leopards of the Chinse Basketball Association, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic.
Simmons is 6-foot-6 and reportedly impressed at the Golden State Warriors’ minicamp earlier this month.
Per Slater, Warriors coach Steve Kerr said Simmons has “NBA years” ahead of him.
Simmons also has NBA years behind him, having spent time with the San Antonio Spurs, Orlando Magic and Philadelphia 76ers. He ended last season with the Santa Cruz Warriors of the G League.
Simmons, 31, carries NBA career averages of 8.3 points and 2.4 rebounds. He averaged a career-high 13.9 points in 69 games with the Magic in 2017-18.
