Jalen Suggs is projected to go within the first 10 picks of the NBA Draft, and will seemingly be comfortable wherever he begins his career as a professional basketball player.
“I’m gonna embrace wherever I go,” Suggs said during a media availability ahead of the draft.
But he was particularly complimentary about the Raptors, who hold the fourth overall pick this season. Suggs pointed out their player development staff and cited Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet and Chris Boucher as players who became success stories as young players within the organization.
Suggs also named Kyle Lowry as a player he loves watching as a competitor and thinks every player should have Lowry’s mindset, including himself.
Heading into the draft, Suggs seems confident in his skillset, but also knows that there is another level he can take his game to.
“The best shooters keep working on their shot but they’re also perfectionists,” Suggs said. “I don’t see any weaknesses in my game but I can still take things to an elite level.”
If the Raptors end up taking Scottie Barnes instead of Suggs, then Suggs will likely be drafted by the Magic, according to Sam Vecenie of The Athletic.
