Gary Trent Jr. will play for the Raptors in Game 3 on Wednesday night. The wing has been dealing with a non-COVID illness and while he suited up in Game 2, though he had to leave the game after just 10 minutes of court time.
Scottie Barnes, who did not play in Game 2 because of a left ankle sprain, is listed as doubtful to play despite reports that he’s out of his walking boot. When asked whether Barnes will suit up against the Sixers on Wednesday, coach Nick Nurse said “maybe.”
“Looks like he’s doing pretty good,” Nurse told the local media in Toronto (via Lori Ewing of The Canadian Press). “I think he’s recovering nicely.”
More NBA Injury Updates
- Devin Booker‘s hamstring injury is believed to be mild, though it appears unlikely that he’ll be able to play in Games 3 or 4 against the Pelicans, Woj explains while adding that the Suns are continuing to evaluate Bookers’ MRI.
- John Collins returned from his finger injury in Tuesday night’s loss to the Heat, though the big man is apparently still not 100%. “I feel like I’m as good as I can be right now,” said Collins, who played 21 minutes in Game 2 (via The Atlanta Journal-Constitution). “Trying to take all the precautions and all the treatments. Only thing I can do. Obviously, I’m still in some pain. But I feel like everybody’s in some type of pain this time of year, at some point. Mine might be a little bit more than normal, but I’m still trying to do what I can.”
- The Bucks will again be without George Hill in Game 2 of their series with the Bulls. Hill hasn’t played since April 8 because of an abdominal strain. Bobby Portis (calf) and Jordan Nwora (back) are also on Milwaukee’s injury report but both are likely to play.
- Luka Doncic hasn’t yet played in the Jazz-Mavericks series, though there’s optimism that he’ll suit up in one of the next two contests. Game 3 is on Thursday while Game 4 will take place on Saturday.
- Rumors about when Ben Simmons will make his Nets debut continue to swirl and the latest from ESPN indicates that Game 4 is a “realistic target” date for the 3-time All-Star to suit up. Simmons is participating in 4-on-4 activities and has more steps to go before playing becomes a certainty.
