Veteran shooting guard Iman Shumpert is awaiting a call from an NBA team in need as he trains in Atlanta, as relayed by Ben Stinar of Forbes.com.
Shumpert, 30, was a member of the Cavaliers’ 2016 championship-team and renowned for his perimeter defense. Since then, he has played with the Kings and Rockets, and appeared in 13 games with the Nets last season.
The Nets and Wizards are among the teams with available roster spots, there has been talk of a Shumpert reunion — especially given Shumpert’s friendship with Nets point guard Kyrie Irving.
Shumpert carries career averages of 7.2 points and 3.3 rebounds. He has appeared in 79 playoffs overall with the Knicks, Cavs and Rockets.
