Free agent center Dwight Howard has agreed to a one-year contract for the veteran’s minimum with the Philadelphia 76ers, his agent told ESPN.
Fresh off a title with the Los Angeles Lakers, Howard will now serve as a backup to All-Star center Joel Embiid.

Regardless, Howard is coming off an underrated season in which he averaged Howard averaged 7.5 points and 7.3 rebounds, and could prove to be a major factor in keeping Embiid healthy as a reliable and still-talented reserve.
