Victor Oladipo is officially a member of the Miami Heat, making his debut against the Golden State Warriors in Miami. Oladipo has been pretty vocal about the Heat being his preferred destination and now that is a reality.
Oladipo played 23 minutes and scored six points, helping the Heat earn a 116-109 victory on Thursday. While he didn’t score much, his energy and winning plays played major roles in the win.
Oladipo seemed pleased with the balanced play of his new team. He kept it simple with his response to a question about how things went.
“My teammates were really helpful tonight,” Oladipo said.
Helpful is what they were. The other players on the Heat were cookin! Jimmy Butler scored 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting, grabbing six rebounds and dishing out eight assists. Duncan Robinson was once again knocking down jumpers, scoring 21 points on 8-of-15 shooting. That included 4-of-11 on 3-pointers. Robinson also grabbed four rebounds and dished out three assists in 37 minutes of play.
Bam Adebayo scored 19 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and passed for six assists. Tyler Herro also came up huge off of the bench with 20 points, four rebounds, and three assists in 35 minutes.
The Heat look to continue their winning ways in Miami against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday.
