Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie is out for the season following knee surgery, but there is undoubtedly no lack of interest in him ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline.
Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Detroit Pistons, Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors all have an interest in Dinwiddie, who tore his ACL at the start of the season.
Dinwiddie is expected to opt out of his $12.3 million contract for next season, but any team that acquired him would own his Bird rights, as Charania noted.
Dinwiddie, 27, is 6-foot-5 and averaged career-highs of 20.6 points and 6.8 rebounds in 64 games last season. He actually spent the first two years of his career (2014-16) with the Pistons before turning into a major player for the Nets.
But apparently, Brooklyn may be willing to move him and land some immediate help next to Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving.
