Victor Oladipo underwent season-ending surgery on his right quad earlier this week and while it will keep him out for the remainder of this season, the Heat are optimistic that he can return to the court next year, Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald reports.
Oladipo will be a free agent this summer, though he was linked to Miami for quite some time before arriving in South Beach (via the Rockets’ deal at the trade deadline). It would be surprising if he ends up elsewhere next season given his desire to play for the Heat and his current injury concerns.
The former No. 2 overall pick was only able to suit up in four games for the Heat this season since coming over in the trade.
