Meyers Leonard is out for the season with a shoulder injury and there’s a chance that the big man will have to find a new team next year. Miami holds a team option on Leonard worth $10.2 million and the 28-year-old hopes to be back with the team next year whether it’s on that deal or a new one.
“I really like it here,” Leonard said of Miami (via Tim Reynolds of The Associated Press).
Leonard was traded to the Heat as part of a four-team trade during the 2019 offseason that sent Hassan Whiteside to Portland and also brought Jimmy Butler to Miami. The former No. 11 overall pick has appeared in 54 games for the Heat in his two years with the club.
