The Miami Heat are ramping up trade talks over the NBA All-Star break and may have their sights set on Houston Rockets point guard John Wall and Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry, according to Tom Haberstroh of TrueHoop.
While Raptors are reportedly considering moving Lowry, it’s not known if the Rockets are doing the same with Wall. But given the Rockets’ struggles this season, they very well could be in liquidation mode ahead of the March 25 deadline.
Meanwhile, the defending Eastern Conference champion Heat have been on the rise after an uneven start. And Heat president Pat Riley has a reputation for refusing to accept anything less than trying to win at all costs.
Interestingly, the Heat have also been linked to Rockets newcomer Victor Oladipo, who is eligible for free agency at the end of the season. Word is, Oladipo prefers the Heat.
Miami has eight games between now and the March 25 trade deadline, and how it fares in that stretch could very well determine the next trade made (or if any are needed), Haberstroh noted.
Lowry is also reportedly drawing interest from the Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Clippers.
