The Heat are expected to make a serious run at adding Kyle Lowry in free agency and the team has his attention, as Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press tweets.
Miami was one of the teams in contention to trade for Lowry at the trade deadline. The Sixers are and Lakers were also in the mix, though the Raptors ultimately decided to keep the veteran on the roster. Toronto is open to working out a sign-and-trade deal with rival teams for Lowry, something could make his departure to South Beach go that much more smoothly.
The Mavs and Pelicans are also expected to make a strong push toward signing Lowry. Dallas just sent Josh Richardson to Boston to clear even more cap room and with Mike Conley likely re-signing with Utah, the franchise could be gearing up for an intense pursuit of the 35-year-old guard. New Orleans traded away Steven Adams and Eric Bledsoe prior to the draft in order to open up enough salary space to make Lowry a competitive bid.
The Sixers are also expected to pursue Lowry despite previous reports indicating that odds are against the former Villanova product joining the franchise.
