The Heat were able to prevail last night in the second game of their back to back against the Bucks. After getting absolutely torched Tuesday night, the Heat avenged their loss last night. Erik Spoelstra has the Miami Heat playing a certain way and he was proud of their ability to bounce back from embarrassment to defeat the Bucks yesterday.
“You want to constantly develop some grit and some toughness during the course of a long season,” Heat coach Spoelstra said. “And our guys responded in an appropriate fashion.”
The Heat are the epitome of a tough team. They play the game the right way. There is no wasted effort on the court. When it comes down to it the team is willing to do what they have to do to grind out a win. After being blown out by 47 points on Tuesday against Milwaukee, the Heat could have laid down last night in the back-to-back. The fact that they fought and even rallied for the 119-108 win over Milwaukee says a lot about Miami. They are a team to watch this season for sure.
More From Miami
- Starters Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo both had themselves a great game on Tuesday. Herro scored 21 points, grabbed a team-high 15 rebounds, and dished out 4 assists in the win vs. Milwaukee last night. Adebayo also pitched in with 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 10 assists.
- Goran Dragic was HUGE off of the bench. In 27 minutes he scored 26 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, and dished out 2 assists.
- The Heat were again without Jimmy Butler because of his ankle injury. The Heat hope to have him back in the next couple of games.
- Avery Bradley started against Milwaukee last night. He started the game and scored 16 points on 6 of 11 shooting. Bradley is proving that he can start for this team as Coach Spoelstra constantly tinkers with his starting lineups this season.
- Rumors: Miami has been rumored to have kicked tires on James Harden and Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com confirms that the team has placed a “courtesy call” to Houston. Trading for Harden may be difficult since the Heat are not open to trading Butler or Adebayo and the front office is restricted in terms of draft capital it can trade out. Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that the Rockets want more than Herro and Duncan Robinson in a Harden deal.
- Next game: The Miami Heat face the Dallas Mavericks in Dallas, Texas at 7 pm Eastern on New Year’s Day
