Hawks forward Danilo Gallinari will miss at least two weeks with a right sprained ankle, the team announced in a press release.
Gallinari was acquired from the Thunder this past offseason and is expected to be a major part of things for the Hawks, adding veteran scoring to the frontcourt.
He suffered the injury in Wednesday’s loss to the Nets, departing the game after only three minutes had expired. That was in addition to the two games he played with a left foot contusion to start the season. Gallinari injured his left foot in the opener.
It’s been eight years since the Gallinari played in more than 70 games. Given that the regular-season schedule consists of just 72 this season, he’ll again fail to surpass that mark.
