The Mavericks have long had interest in bringing Goran Dragic to Dallas, nearly trading for him back in 2019 as part of the Jimmy Butler-to-Miami sign-and-trade. The club has again been linked to the point guard as part of a larger deal.
Rumors are beginning to circulate about the Raptors’ pursuit of Kristaps Porzingis, a deal that would send Dragic to Dallas. It’s unclear how serious talks are, though it would likely take more than Dragic and picks to pry KP from the Mavericks.
Dragic has only played one game for Toronto this season and is widely expected to be traded on Thursday. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst mentioned the Lakers as another team that had interest in the point guard on his Thursday morning First Take appearance.
Porzingis, however, hasn’t been in the rumor mill too much this season. Last year, we reported that the Wizards were eyeing a potential trade for the big man, though it’s unclear if the franchise still has interest at this time.
