Veteran center DeMarcus Cousins‘ contract with the Houston Rockets is a non-guaranteed training camp deal, according to Keith Smith of Yahoo Sports.
Should Cousins make the opening day roster, his deal will convert to a full guaranteed contract on Feb. 27, Smith added.
Cousins, 30, has suffered an array of injuries since a trade that sent him from the Sacramento Kings to the New Orleans Pelicans in February 2017. The list includes a torn Achilles and a torn ACL.
He has since spent time with the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers, but has failed to produce his All-Star numbers of his pre-injury days. He has only played in 78 games over the last three seasons.
Cousins and the Rockets reached agreement a few days before Thanksgiving.
