The Orlando Magic have now earned their third win of the season. The Magic defeated the Utah Jazz 107-100 in Orlando at the Amway Center. The Magic improved to 3-8 on the season. They are figuring things out and coming together as a team despite a slow start. As a young team this is how things happen sometimes. However, this team has a lot of cohesion and they fight on the court to win. Magic Coach Jamahl Mosely spoke on how his team is learning to fix their bad habits game by game. For example, in the prior game against San Antonio the Magic had nine turnovers in the fourth quarter. Fast forward to this game against the Utah Jazz the Magic corrected that and were able to get a big comeback win against the Jazz.
“We talked about that this is where the lessons are learned,” Mosley said. “The last game we had turnovers in the huddle and we didn’t give ourselves a chance. We talked in the huddle that we’ve been here before and it was about how we responded. I’m so proud of these guys for responding.”
Cole Anthony scored a career high 33 points against the Jazz. Anthony scored 33 points on 13 of 20 shooting from the field. He knocked down five out of 10 from the three-point line. Anthony’s confidence is growing more and more each game. Anthony spoke on his performance and his team’s as well.
“The team just came and really fought tonight,” said Anthony, who topped his previous season-best of 32 points and scored 24 of his 33 points in the second half. “Just a big shoutout to the team because that was a good (win) against a really good team.”
