The Boston Celtics have officially punched their ticket to the 2022 NBA Finals.
The Celtics defeated the Miami Heat in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals by a score of 100-96.
After leading big early on, the Heat came back and made things interesting. However, the Celtics held on, clinching their first NBA Finals ticket since 2010.
“Our focus is getting four more,” said Celtics Ime Udoka, who joins an elite class of coaches making the Finals during his first season with a team.
Tatum Takes Home Eastern Conference Finals MVP
Jayson Tatum won the Larry Bird trophy because of his performance all series long. Game 7 was no different for Tatum: He scored 26 points on 9-for-21 shooting from the field, including 4-for-7 from the three-point line. Tatum also grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out six assists.
“To get over the hump with this group, it means everything,” Tatum said postgame.

The NBA Finals begins on Thursday, 6/2. Game 1 will take place at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California. Tip-off will take place at 9 pm Eastern/ 6 pm Pacific and the game will air on ABC.
