Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kevin Porter Jr. deleted his Instagram account after his post raised some eyebrows, but later clarified it wasn’t anything with which to be concerned.
“Media is the [worst]. … appreciate you for the prayers & concerns but it ain’t that,” Porter tweeted. “I’m fine. Been thru my worse times already, can’t get worse than what I already been thru. Love & Thank you.”
Porter deleted his twitter account moments after this story was posted to Amico Hoops.
His Instagram post contained a solid black box with a caption that read, “You ever wish to see the end of your time?”
According to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, several members of the Cavs contacted Porter to check on him, including GM Koby Altman and coach J.B. Bickerstaff.
Porter’s tweet soon followed the report, which referred to his Instagram post as “cryptic.”
The final pick of the first round (30th overall), Porter showed athleticism and upside in averaging 10.0 points and 3.2 rebounds as rookie. He was initially considered a lottery pick entering the 2019 draft.
He recorded a career-high 30 points against James Harden and the Houston Rockets on Feb. 25, shortly before the NBA hiatus. Porter has often talked of his admiration of the high-scoring Harden, a fellow left-handed shooting guard.
