The Cavaliers are among the teams that intend to send their minor-league affiliate to the G League bubble, FortyEight Minutes has confirmed.
Along with the Canton Charge, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (Indiana Pacers) are also expected to participate, per JD Shaw of HoopsRumors.
Previous reports indicated the Philadelphia 76ers and Toronto Raptors have agreed to join.
The bubble is slotted for next month in Atlanta. Franchises will reportedly need to pay a $500,o00 entry fee for their G League affiliates.
Several teams have already indicated they plan not to participate — including the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons.
Per reports, each G League team would play 12 “seeding” games, followed by a tournament. Basically, it would be a very similar setup to the NBA’s 2019-20 restart at Walt Disney World Resort.
The G League shut down the season in March and teams haven’t played since. A G League draft would be held after the bubble, per reports.
