JaVale McGee continues to draw interest from around the league with Zach Lowe of ESPN.com being the latest reporter to hear that the big man is coveted.
Lowe writes that several playoff teams have contacted the Cavaliers about McGee while cautioning that rival front offices are evaluating the likelihood that Cleveland works out a buyout agreement with the center before surrendering assets.
McGee, who has shockingly made 5-of-19 three-pointers this season, is seen as someone who could help contenders during their expected playoff run. Our own Sam Amico recently reported that the Nets were among the teams that have already spoken to the Cavs about McGee. The Celtics, Raptors, and Bucks have all been linked to the former Laker, though it’s worth noting that Milwaukee’s interest was reported before the Bucks traded for P.J. Tucker.
McGee is earning $4.2 million this year during the final year of his pact.
