The Cavaliers didn’t have a second-round pick but did add a player following the draft.
That would be Lamar Stevens, a 6-foot-8 power forward out of Penn State who went undrafted. The Cavs and Stevens agreed to a two-way contract.
Stevens played all four years with the Nittany Lions and was named first-team All-Big Ten as a senior. He averaged 17.9 points and 6.6 rebounds this past season.
A two-way contract allows Stevens to be active on the Cavs’ roster for up to 50 games.
As an interesting aside, Stevens authored a children’s book, “Lamar’s Climb — A Journey to Happy Valley.” It teaches geography based on his own personal experiences.
The Cavs took Auburn small forward Isaac Okoro with the No. 5 overall pick, their lone selection of the draft.
