The NBA will make the Bulls and Heat forfeit their next available second-round draft picks, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
The NBA investigated both teams after reports surfaced that the Bulls and Heat got in contact with Lonzo Ball and Kyle Lowry ahead of free agency, as both players were ultimately acquired via sign-and-trades to their respective teams.
The league told teams in a memo that both teams “fully cooperated with the investigations,” which was taken into account when handing down penalties.
Fines up to $10 million per team, loss of draft picks and suspension of team executives were among the penalties made available to the NBA.
