Earlier this week, Washington Wizards All-Star and the leagues scoring leader, Bradley Beal, was a guest on The Breakfast Club. During the appearance was Beal was asked if he wanted to stay in Washington.
Beal would reply, “Yes, but ultimately I want to win.”
He also revealed one of the major reasons why he wants to stay in Washington.
“It takes a lot not to make me happy. Granted, everybody wants to win. Winning in this league is hard, and the cliche saying, the grass is not always greener on the other side, but there are opportunities,” said Beal.
“You never know, I love to grind it out through adverse times, but granted, my career doesn’t last forever. I understand my prime doesn’t last forever, so I keep everything in mind and short-sided for sure.”
Beal is the Wizards’ face, which comes with a lot of responsibility, and it is one of the main reasons he wants to stay.
“Exactly, that plays a huge factor, and that is 100 percent the number one at the top of the list of the reasonings of staying. Because, as a black man in this industry of 450 guys, I have the opportunity to be under an organization where I have a little bit of control. I have a little bit of say so; I am the franchise guy. That means a lot because many owners don’t grant that type of trust, commitment to a player, or relationship. So, I am honored by that. I don’t take it for granted, but I always have my guard up because it’s a business,” Beal shared.
Beals Navigates Tough Question With Ease
Earlier in the interview, Charlemagne Tha God asked Beal if he has ever traded himself on NBA2k, and if so, what team?
“Oh, you are trying to get me to hang up. I don’t know, but in the video game, but we would go to the highest bidder at that point.”
Of course, the Wizards asked the Breakfast Club not to talk about potential trade talks with Beal, but Charlemagne Tha God was able to back door the question. It is also funny that he slipped it in there. Earlier this month, a league source told me Beal is saying all the right things.
“Beal is saying the right things and working with the front office to extract maximum value. Beal’s desired teams include the Pelicans, Mavs, Heat, & the LA teams,” per a league source.
Pelicans are on top of the list of Bradley Beal’s desired teams.
