The Phoenix Suns have now won six out of their last seven games after routing the Memphis Grizzles, 122-99. They bounced back after losing to the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night. Suns point guard Chris Paul was very happy with the team’s bounce-back performance from their loss.
“You show me someone fine with losing and I’ll show you a loser,” Paul said.
Paul did his part against Memphis to make sure the Suns got back in the win column. CP3 shot 9 of 11 from the field for 18 points. He also grabbed 3 rebounds and dished out 7 assists. Suns star Devin Booker led the way with 27 points in the win. He shot 10 of 19 from the field. He also grabbed 4 rebounds and dished out 5 assists. The Suns now sit a half game ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers for second place in the West. They are now only two games behind the first-place Utah Jazz.
Suns coach Monty Williams was very happy with his team’s bounce-back performance.
“You could tell there was a tense-ness about our meeting this morning,” Williams explained. “It’s what I love about the group. To take that energy and focus and hold a team like that to 99 points. we a top-10 defense and we hung up 122, which isn’t easy to do. The focus was there.”
The Suns look to keep up their winning ways in their next game. They play the struggling Minnesota in Phoenix on Thursday, 3/18. Tip-off is at 7 pm Pacific time.
