The NBA has set its key offseason dates, announcing the scheduled days for the NBA Draft, draft lottery and draft combine on Monday.
Per the league, the NBA Draft will be held Thursday, July 29, with the first round be broadcast by both ABC and ESPN. The second round will be carried solely by ESPN.
Meanwhile, the pre-draft combine of many of the top prospects will take place June 21-27. Portions of the combine will be televised by ESPN, “with coverage featuring five-on-five games and strength and agility testing,” the league statement read. While there is nothing in the release about NBA TV related to the combine, it is also likely to broadcast portions of it.
Also, the draft lottery is slated for Tuesday, June 22, also on ESPN. It will likely take place prior to a playoff game, considering that is the way the league has done it for the previous 20 or so years.
Along with all that, the NBA set the deadline for underclassmen to apply for the draft as May 30. The deadline for early entry candidates to withdrawal is July 19 at 5 p.m. EST.
“Additional information regarding the Draft, Combine and Lottery, including the location for each event, will be announced as details are finalized,” the league announced.
