The Orlando Magic earned a 112-111 over the Phoenix Suns at the Amway Center in Orlando. This was a huge win and could be a building block to boost the Magic’s confidence as this season goes on. The Suns are currently in 2nd place in the NBA’s Western Conference. The Suns have been on an absolute tear lately. So for the Magic to be able to knock them off speaks volumes about the team’s potential. It has been a slow start to the season with more losses than the team would like. There have been injuries and so many lineup changes through this season so far. However, the team seems to be getting healthy and they have shown flashes of being a team with a lot of firepower.
Evan Fournier scored 21 points for the Magic against the Suns. Including knocking down the game-winning shot to give the Magic 112-111 lead and ultimately the final score and victory. Fournier will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season. He has been the topic of a lot of trade discussion and rumors. He reflected on his time in Orlando during his postgame interview.
“I left my home (in France) where I lived with my parents when I was 13 and since then I never stayed in one place for more than two years, so the fact that I’ve been here for seven years says a lot,” said Fournier, who hit four 3-pointers and scored at least 20 points for the 12th time this season. “I had a son here, I got married and it means more than a lot. … If it’s the end, it’s the end, but I love the franchise.”
