The Cavaliers and Raptors have discussed a potential Andre Drummond deal but Michael Grange of Sportsnet.ca hears that Toronto isn’t actually that interested in the big man. Nevertheless, the Raptors have some frontcourt issues that they may have avoided if they retained either Serge Ibaka or Marc Gasol during the offseason.
The team has some tough decisions leading up to the trade deadline, including how much to give up for some center help and evaluating Kyle Lowry‘s and Norman Powell‘s fit beyond this season. Each will be a free agent at the end of the year.
Lowry’s name has been floated around in trade rumors and the Sixers are an intriguing fit from an on-the-court standpoint. However, finding a deal that makes sense without sending back Tobias Harris (Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons are obviously off the table in Lowry talks and it would take an overwhelming offer to pry Seth Curry) isn’t easy. Cobbling together Danny Green, Tony Bradley, Mike Scott, and Terrance Ferguson would match up salary-wise but such a trade would require Toronto to gut the back end of its roster in order to accommodate, making for a sticky situation in the midst of the COVID-era.
