The Houston Rockets are signing power forward Ray Spalding to a two-way contract and waiving guard Brodric Thomas, as relayed by Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.
Spalding, 23, is 6-foot-9 and has appeared in two games with the G League’s Rio Grande Valley Vipers this season, averaging 18 points and 13 rebounds.
He appeared in a total of 14 games with the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns during the 2018-19 season, but has spent most of his pro career in the G League. In 67 total games with the Texas Legends, Greensboro Swarm and Vipers, Spalding compiled 14.9 points and 9.0 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Thomas is a 6-5 rookie who went undrafted out of Division II Truman State. He appeared in four games, averaging 2.5 points.
The Rockets (11-14) have lost four straight heading into Saturday’s game at New York.
