The NBA intends to hold Zoom meetings with representatives from all 30 teams to help ease concerns about the COVID-19 vaccine, according to a report from The Athletic.
The meetings will feature the league’s top medical expert Dr. Leroy Sims, and last until Feb. 19. Per The Athletic, attendance for the meetings will be mandatory.
Multiple NBA players have expressed apprehension over the vaccine since it started to become available.
“According to a league memo obtained by The Athletic, Sims will reflect ‘on his experience as an emergency medicine physician during the COVID-19 pandemic and his COVID-19 vaccination — to promote greater understanding and awareness regarding league-wide and public vaccination initiatives,'” per the report.
Teams have asked the league office for help in educating the players and other staff members about the vaccine.
