John Wall and James Harden are in their first year together in the Rockets’ backcourt. Harden has been the main man in Houston for some time.
Two years ago, the point guard was Chris Paul. Last season, Russell Westbrook and Harden shared the duties. This year, it’s Wall, who missed most of the previous two years with the Wizards after suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon.
So, how is it going in Year One next to Harden?
“It’s been a little rocky,” Wall admitted to reporters after the Rockets were blown out by the Lakers on Tuesday. “I don’t think it’s been the best, that’s all I can say.”
Wall’s comments came after Harden’s own postgame comments, in which he basically reiterated that he wanted a trade.
Actually, Harden has never said he publicly wanted to be dealt. But the multiple national reports have made it prettry clear that he does, and it’s been that way since before the season.
“We’re just not good enough,” Harden told reporters prior to Wall’s interview. “Chemistry, talent-wise. And it was clear these last few games. I love this city. I’ve literally done everything I can. This situation is crazy. I don’t think it can be fixed. Thanks.”
