Indiana will host the entire NCAA Tournament in a variety of locations around Indianapolis in March, college basketball’s governing body announced Monday.
Selection Sunday is slated for March 14, with the Final Four to take place April 3-5.
Per the NCAA, the locations are as follows:
- Lucas Oil Stadium
- Bankers Life Fieldhouse
- Hinkle Fieldhouse
- Indiana Farmers Coliseum
- Mackey Arena in West Lafayette
- Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall
Lucas Oil Stadium is home of the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts and actually holds tow full basketball courts — though only one will host a game at a time. The Indianapolis Convention Center will serve as a practice facility.
“I really don’t care if they play the [NCAA] Tournament on Saturn,” Louisville coach Chris Mack told reporters. “Hopefully, we’re a part of it and we do our part to get there.”
Last year’s tournament was wiped out because of the coronavirus pandemic. This year’s could include fans at games, thought the NCAA is likely to wait on deciding on how many.
At the very least, the NCAA will permit a “limited number” of family members and coaches for each of the participating 67 teams.
All games will be televised by CBS, TBS, TNT and TrueTV.
