John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins will have to wait a little longer to make their Rockets debuts.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Wall, Cousins, Eric Gordon and Mason Jones will all be required by the NBA to quarantine for seven days for the purpose of COVID-19 contact tracing.
That means all four players will miss Saturday’s game at Portland and Monday’s game at Denver.
That said, they are expected to receive clearance to return to practice on Wednesday, per Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle. That would make them available for the Rockets’ home opener Thursday vs. the Kings.
Along with those four, per Feigen, the Rockets will be without Ben McLemore and KJ Martin for the time being, as those two are in self-isolation after receiving positive COVID-19 tests.
The Rockets are expected to have nine available players, including James Harden, on Saturday night.
