The Bucks have waived center Justin Patton and power forward E.J. Montgomery to cut the roster to 18, according to a team release.
Patton, 23, was the No. 16 overall draft pick in 2017, but has been limited to just nine NBA games because of an array of injuries. He was waived by the Clippers in November following a trade with the Pistons.
Montgomery went undrafted this past fall after two seasons at Kentucky. He averaged 6.1 points and 5.4 rebounds as a sophomore last season.
Neither player appeared in the Bucks’ first two preseason games.
Milwaukee will still have to make another cut to get the roster to 17 before Saturday.
