The Rockets announced a series of cuts Wednesday, parting ways with veteran guard Jerian Grant, as well as forwards Kenny Wooten and guard/forward Trevelin Queen.
Grant, 28, is 6-foot-4 and has spent time with the Bulls, Knicks, Magic and Wizards. His best season came in 2017-18, when he averaged a career-high 8.4 points in 74 games with the Bulls.
After cutting Grant and losing Chris Clemons to a season-ending Achilles tear, it stands to reason the Rockets are on the lookout for a backup to point guard John Wall.
Wooten is 6-8 and went undrafted in 2019. He spent last season with the Westchester Knicks of the G League.
Queen is 6-6 and went undrafted out of New Mexico State this fall. He entered the draft as a sophomore, when he averaged 13.2 points in 26 games.
