ESPN will have NBA announcing crews call games both in the arenas and from their own homes this season, as relayed by Jon Paulsen of Sports Media Watch.
A network spokesperson confirmed to Paulsen that “slightly more” games will be called on-site.
“Games called on-site will also be produced on-site, while games called remotely will be produced from ESPN’s Bristol or Charlotte studios,” Paulsen reported. “For some games, one announcer may be on-site with the other working from home; those games will be produced either on-site or remotely.”
Meanwhile, TNT is not expected to send its broadcast teams to the arenas this season, according to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post.
