The Miami Heat earned a big win on the road against the Golden State Warriors to earn their 19th victory of the season. The Heat defeated the Warriors 114-102 to move to 19-12 overall on the season. The Heat also improved to 10-6 overall on the road. The Heat have now won four games in a row as well. They were without Jimmy Butler (strained left calf), Kyle Lowry (soreness), Caleb Martin (sprained right ankle), and Josh Richardson (sore back). Despite being without four players out of their regular rotation they still cruised to victory over the Warriors. Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra spoke on the Heat’s mentality coming into the game and the win postgame.
“You want to set the tone right from the get-go,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. “For the most part, I thought our guys brought that kind of effort, energy, toughness, and physicality.”
Tyler Herro led the Heat with 26 points. Herro scored his 26 on 10-for-18 shooting. Herro knocked down 3-for-7 from the three-point line and 3-for-4 from the free-throw line. Herro also grabbed seven rebounds, dished out two assists, and recorded a steal. Herro spoke postgame about the Heat’s mentality with four of their regular rotation players and the Heat’s win postgame.
“It’s just a testament to our gratitude, the guys’ next-man-up mentality,” Herro said. “Just coming in here and being able to fulfill guys that are out, being able to fulfill those spots.”
