The Orlando Magic went out and earned a win on the road after dropping a game against the Indiana Pacers at home on Saturday night. The Magic defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 101-93. They now have earned their 26th victory of the season and are 26-36 overall. Magic Head Coach Jamahl Mosely spoke postgame about his team’s strong performance. Mosely was specifically proud of how his team played on the defensive end.
“Your effort, your energy level, your togetherness — I think those things have to continue to be who we are,” Mosley said.
Paolo Banchero scored 29 points on 10-for-18 shooting. Banchero knocked down 9-for-11 from the free-throw line. He also grabbed eight rebounds, dished out four assists, and recorded a steal. Banchero hit some big shots down the stretch. He spoke postgame about his mindset going into those final moments in the game.
“In those moments, you kind of just got to be able to go get a basket. I was confident I could do that,” Banchero said, adding that his teammates “trust me to make the right play. I don’t take that for granted. I don’t take that lightly,” Banchero continued. “We’re close as a group and I think on the court it shows in moments like that.”
Markelle Fultz also had high praise for Paolo Banchero and his play postgame.
“Tonight he did a great job of staying aggressive, getting to the free-throw line … getting to his spots, and knocking them down with confidence,” Magic guard Markelle Fultz said. “When he’s playing like that it helps our team go. Everybody’s super excited for him.”
