The Lakers defeated the Washington Wizards 119-117 at the Crypto.com Arena. The Lakers now hold a 13-16 record overall. They are also 8-7 at home.
Thomas Bryant started at Center in place of the injured Anthony Davis. Bryant scored the game-winning dunk to give the Lakers a 119-117 victory. Bryant also scored 16 points on 7-for-13 shooting from the field. Bryant grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out two assists. Bryant spoke postgame about the Lakers’ win and his stepping up in Anthony Davis’ absence.
“You have to follow the lead and sometimes wait for your (name) to be called,” said Bryant after making his third start with Davis sidelined. “It doesn’t change the fact that you have to be ready and stay ready and do what you can to make sure you’re in that mode in case something like this happens. I take pride in the preparation that I have.”
LeBron James led the way for the Lakers. James scored 33 points on 13-for-24 shooting. He knocked down 1-for-4 from three. James knocked down 6-for-8 from the free-throw line. James also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out nine assists.
