The Sixers are in Miami for Game 1 with their series against the Heat beginning on Monday night. Oddsmakers list Doc Rivers’ club as a 7.5-point underdog in the contest and they are bearish on the Sixers’ chances to advance to the Eastern Conference finals.

Injuries to Note
The Sixers will be without Joel Embiid on Monday night, as the MVP candidate has been ruled out for Game 1 and Game 2 because of an orbital fracture and the concussion he suffered late in the team’s closeout win in Toronto last week. There’s hope he could return for Game 3 or 4 in this series but until then, James Harden and Tyrese Maxey will attempt to carry the squad.
Jimmy Butler continues to deal with knee irritation, though he’s expected to play in Game 1. Kyle Lowry will not play, however, as the point guard is dealing with a hamstring injury.
Tyler Herro was dealing with a non-COVID illness but the shooting guard is good to go for Game 1.
